About the Film
In a world where social media has distorted reality and skewed expectations, the concept of traditional relationships is challenged. TOGETHER offers intimate access to the daily lives of diverse couples, portraying raw, authentic love, the many meanings of partnership, and how growth can happen together.
The film explores the complexity of relationships: the joys, and more importantly the struggles that shape one couple but break another. Expert interviews shed light on the dynamics of modern commitment and on how coupling has evolved through the years. We are invited to reflect on the meaning of human connection today, and to try to understand each other, and our own experiences, a little better.
Why This Film
Scroll through your phone and love looks like idealistic weddings, expensive vacations, sunsets and wine. The reality is messier. TOGETHER peels back that layer of superficiality to show what it means to be a couple: the idyllic and romantic moments, contrasted with the struggle and hard work that go into building a partnership against all odds.
Each couple shows a different facet of a common reality: while the journey of love has its challenges, facing them together is what allows us to say "forever". There are no rules, and sometimes, no matter how hard you try, you fail. Walking away can mean leaving a toxic situation behind, and the film shows that too.
More than an observation, TOGETHER is a platform for reflection and dialogue, designed to get people talking about love, vulnerability, and the importance of putting in the work.

Fadia Ahmad
Photographer & Filmmaker
Fadia Ahmad is a Lebanese-Spanish photographer and filmmaker whose work explores the profound ties between identity, memory and roots. Born and raised in Spain, of Lebanese origin, she returned to Beirut in 2002 after years of exile during Lebanon's civil war, and brings a transnational perspective to a practice that blends documentary filmmaking and contemporary art photography.
In 2020, following the August 4 Beirut explosion, she directed the documentary Beirut, the Aftermath (2021), selected by festivals worldwide. It won Best Feature Documentary at the Argenteuil International Film Festival and Best Documentary and Best Female Director at FICOCC Five Continents (Venezuela), and has screened at universities including Princeton, Duke and the University of Bologna.
TOGETHER was completed in 2024 and began touring international festivals before its theatrical release at Metropolis Cinema in Beirut in 2025. Her photography has been exhibited in museums and institutions across Europe, the Middle East and the United States, and in 2022 she was named one of the 50 most influential women contemporary artists in Larousse's L'Art Contemporain par les Femmes.
In June 2026, Ahmad presented her latest exhibition participation in Tanger at Gallery Kent, as part of the Photo Tanger Festival. Meanwhile, she launched her second book, Echos – Echoes, published by Éditions Norma and authored by Pascale Le Thorel. The book is available internationally online, as well as in selected museums and libraries across France.
In October 2026, Together was granted a second theatrical release in Beirut at Grand Cinemas ABC Ashrafieh & Dbayeh.
"I hope that this film inspires viewers to lift the rose-colored glasses we all wear when we fall in love. I hope they can walk out and look at their partners as the human beings they are, full of flaws and imperfections, but also full of ideas, and empathy, and quirks, and needs."
