About the Film
The stories of several women from very different religious communities: a Druze mother reunited with her son three years after his death, reincarnated in another village; a Shiite mother raising her son toward the path of armed struggle; a Christian mother compelled to avenge her murdered son. The film approaches Lebanon's civil wars and their suffering through the eyes of women, revealing the hidden power of those too often assumed to be submissive and sidelined -- mothers who raised a generation marching toward death.
Still Taught Today
Since its 1993 release, the film is still used as a teaching text in schools and universities.
