About the Film

Joud, a shy 24-year-old sound engineer, lives inside his own private world of sound. One day Rana, bright and joyful, draws him lovingly out of it -- then disappears in an instant. Refusing to give in to grief, Joud sets out, against the odds, to find her again through sound. A contemporary story about fidelity and temptation set against the backdrop of women's emancipation in the Middle East, and, beneath that, a film about another kind of resistance: love, and survival.
