June 24, 2022 another grim day in the woman’s right history.

The US Supreme Court decided to overturn Roe v Wade ending the right to abortion. The shock was felt all across the US but also internationally. Foreign leaders condemned the decision. For almost 50 years, having an abortion was an option that every women in the US had. A freedom, a right.

I live in country, Lebanon, where women’s right are not fully covered. I am aware of the hardships women are going through. I am also a citizen of France where women like Simone de Beauvoir, Simone Veil, Gisele Halimi, have fought for the rights of the million women under the rule of a patriarchal society. Today, most of Europe has legalized abortion. Nobody talks about it anymore.

But who would have thought that such decision would happen in the beacon of democracy that is the USA.

What is going to happen at the State level? What are women whose life is threatened going to do? Who will be the most impacted by the decision? Is it the first conservative salvo to remove basic rights? And what can organizations and individuals do?

These are some questions we will cover in our Live Special.
